Meet Andreea Dima, Founder and Lead Interior Designer

Andreea Dima, founder and lead interior designer at AweDeco

Andreea Dima is a certified interior designer and the founder of AweDeco, an interior design studio based in Bucharest, Romania.

Since founding the studio in 2012, she has spent more than 13 years designing residential and commercial spaces. Her work centers on complete home renovations, with particular strength in kitchen design, color schemes and flooring.

You can see some of her past projects on Houzz.

Professional Background

Andreea has led the design of more than 100 residential and commercial projects, from full home renovations to single-room makeovers.

Her portfolio includes apartments, family homes, retail spaces and restaurants. Many of those projects involved difficult starting points such as dark flooring, low ceilings and awkward layouts.

Areas of Expertise

  • Space planning: functional layouts that work for how a room is actually used
  • Color schemes: palettes that suit the architecture, the light and the existing finishes
  • Flooring: hardwood, tile and luxury vinyl in homes and commercial spaces
  • Lighting: layered lighting that balances function and atmosphere
  • Sustainable choices: durable materials and energy-efficient solutions where the budget allows

Design Philosophy

“Every space tells a story. My role is to make sure that story is both beautiful and functional. Whether I’m working with dark flooring or building a color scheme for a whole home, I look for choices that work with the existing architecture instead of fighting it.”

Andreea currently works on interior design projects across Romania and also offers virtual design consultations for clients abroad.

How We Create Our Content

We want you to know how the articles on this site are made:

  • Written by Andreea: the articles on AweDeco are written by Andreea Dima, the studio’s founder and lead designer.
  • Studio experience: where a topic overlaps with her project work, such as color schemes, flooring or kitchen layouts, the advice reflects what she has seen work in real homes.
  • Research and sources: articles also draw on manufacturer specifications, paint and material data, industry surveys and published research. New and updated articles name and link the sources they rely on.
  • Corrections and updates: we are reviewing and updating our older articles. If you spot an error, tell us and we will correct it.

Our Mission

Many costly design mistakes can be avoided with the right information before the first purchase. AweDeco’s guides are written to give homeowners that information in plain language, whether they are planning a full renovation or choosing curtains for one room.

What You’ll Find Here
